Hello! This summer, I am offering indoor art camps, where kids will learn about art while also learning about nature. I will host my camps at the Center for Regenerative Agriculture, located at 3501 Dairyland Rd, Hillsborough, NC. This is just up the road from the Honeysuckle Tea House, where I have had my summer camps for the past several years. The Center for Regenerative Agriculture is on a working farm, the Union Grove Farm, and is adjacent to the Mapleview Dairy Ice Cream Shop.
I will provide guidance and materials for a range of art experiences from painting and weaving to building projects such as birdhouses and solar ovens. The main inspiration for my camps this year will be nature. Most of the time, the students are all working on the same projects. However, I do also encourage older students to pursue their own interests while we create art. My summer camps reach back to a time not so long ago, when children spent their days creating and building without electronics and an excess of screen time.
