Hello! This summer, I am offering outdoor art camps. The kids will learn about art while also learning about nature. I have a camper that I have converted into The Artmobile, a traveling art studio. The Artmobile will be nestled in the shade of the pine trees at the Honeysuckle Tea House. The Honeysuckle Tea House is located at 8871 Pickards Meadow Road in Chapel Hill and is a refreshing glimpse into a rural lifestyle. The Tea House has outdoor space in the pine forest, in the vineyard, in the gardens, and the playground.
I will provide guidance and materials for a range of art experiences from painting and weaving to building projects such as birdhouses and solar ovens. The main inspiration for my camps this year will be nature. Most of the time, the students are all working on the same projects. However, I do also encourage older students to pursue their own interests while we create art. My summer camps reach back to a time not so long ago, when children spent their days creating and building without electronics and an excess of screen time.
